By now everyone most-likley knows the outcome of the Proposition 8 case that was announced yesterday! Judge Walker ruled that Prop 8 was unconstitutional in his 136 page opinion which is a first step in what will probably be a lengthy fight. In this opinion he stated, "Proposition 8 fails to advance any rational basis in singling out gay men and lesbians for denial of a marriage license. Indeed, the evidence shows Proposition 8 does nothing more than enshrine in the California Constitution the notion that opposite-sex couples are superior to same-sex couples." He gave both sides until tomorrow (Friday) to respond to the order.
